Management Guidelines

  • Adapted across the United States and fits all production zones where alfalfas with fall dormancy 3, 4 or 5 are normally recommended.
  • At late bud stage, plants will be medium-tall with a very dense leafy canopy of medium to dark green leaves up and down the numerous fine stems.
  • Offers growers better forage quality at the traditional 28- to 30-day harvest timing. In delayed cutting, higher milk/acre can be expected.
  • Lodging tolerance comparable to other high-yielding conventional varieties.
  • Average greenup after harvest.
  • Adapted to aggressive 28-day cutting schedule or more-relaxed midbloom harvest systems; gives growers flexibility when weather or timing isn’t right.
  • No production or harvest management adjustments to benefit with Hi-Gest® alfalfa technology.
