Management Guidelines

  • Mycogen® brand bm3 BMR hybrids are bred for highly digestible stover and grain components; a planned fertility program that provides adequate N, P and K throughout the season is highly recommended.
  • Best performance when placed on soils with good water-supplying capacity, unless irrigation is an option.
  • Avoid poorly drained soils, especially east.
  • Intermediate gray leaf spot tolerance — will benefit from a foliar fungicide.
  • Harder kernel texture will benefit from a kernel processor.
  • Above- and below-ground insect protection provides consistent performance over years and environments.
  • Monitor harvest moisture closely as harvest approaches; hybrids may be drier or wetter than physical appearance indicates.
  • Avoid planting at aggressively high plant densities; moderate to moderate-high plant densities complement the performance characteristics.
