Management Guidelines

  • Mycogen® brand bm3 BMR hybrids are bred for highly digestible stover and grain components; a planned fertility program that provides adequate N, P and K throughout the season is highly recommended.
  • Best performance when placed on soils with good water-supplying capacity, unless irrigation is an option.
  • Best performance at moderate plant densities and highly productive soils.
  • Monitor harvest moisture closely as harvest approaches; hybrids may be drier or wetter than physical appearance indicates.
  • When storing BMR hybrids in a pile or a bunker, recommended moisture levels for harvesting range from 66 percent to 70 percent; for bags, 66 percent to 68 percent.
  • Offers very good tolerance to northern corn leaf blight — fungicide may be needed in areas of high pressure.
