Management Guidelines

  • Plant at medium-high to high plant densities for best results.
  • Works well in strip-till fields where residue management is needed.
  • Strong performance in continuous corn and corn/soybean rotations.
  • Responds to top management — fertility, fungicide and irrigation.
  • Scout for gray leaf spot and treat with fungicide if economic threshold is reached.
  • Timely harvest is recommended.
  • Under dryland production, reduce populations to correspond with expected soil moisture.
  • For irrigated production, maintain adequate soil moisture through blacklayer to maximize yield and stalk quality.
  • When irrigation is limited, allocate the majority of water for pollination and grain fill.
