Management Guidelines

  • High-yielding TMF silage hybrids are bred for high stover and grain components; a planned fertility program that provides adequate N, P and K throughout the season is highly recommended.
  • Good performance at low to moderately high plant populations.
  • Good performance under moderate drought stress.
  • Best on highly productive soils.
  • Monitor harvest moisture closely as harvest approaches.; hybrids may be drier or wetter than physical appearance indicates.
  • When storing TMF hybrids in a pile or a bunker, recommended moisture levels for harvesting range from 65 percent to 68 percent; for bags, 62 percent to 68 percent.
  • Recommended for silage, earlage and high-moisture corn use within its adapted maturity.
