Management Guidelines

  • High-yielding TMF silage hybrids are bred for high stover and grain components; a planned fertility program that provides adequate N, P and K throughout the season is highly recommended.
  • Full flex ear type supports variable planting densities; optimum performance achieved at moderate plant populations.
  • Positive response to a foliar fungicide application under conditions of high gray leaf spot pressure.
  • When storing TMF hybrids in a pile or a bunker, recommended moisture levels for harvesting range from 65 percent to 68 percent; for bags, 62 percent to 68 percent.
  • To manage average root strength, avoid poorly drained soils.
