Management Guidelines

  • High-yielding TMF silage hybrids are bred for high stover and grain components; a planned fertility program that provides adequate N, P and K throughout the season is highly recommended.
  • Best performance when planted within the optimum planting window; avoid late planting.
  • For optimum performance, position this hybrid in the proper maturity zone (97 to 103); avoid placing too far south.
  • This hybrid will respond best to more moderate plant densities to complement the ear development and root strength.
  • When storing TMF hybrids in a pile or a bunker, recommended moisture levels for harvesting range from 65 percent to 68 percent; for bags, 62 percent to 68 percent.
